It's been a busy couple of weeks. As you may or may not have noticed, I didn't harass you with a weekly email last week. We did a mau5trap show in Austin a week and a half ago and I ended up staying down in Austin for a few days thereafter. Call it a mini vacation, a necessary recalibration, or a momentary disconnection. It was needed. A little separation to see the forest from the trees is always a good thing I think. Consequently there was no Tap Tempo last week. As soon as I got back I hit the ground running and rather swiftly finished up the next EP from the Calliope project. I'm really proud of it. I'll talk more about it soon once we get closer to the release of it. It'll be in December.
Now this week there fortunately is a Tap Tempo. Finishing Move is the production/composer duo made up of Brian Trifon and Brian Lee White. "The Brians" as they are often aptly referred to. After launching Finishing Move a few years ago they've gone on to work on a litany of game scores, most recently Halo Wars 2. They also put out their own signature instrument last year called Posthuman that I ended up using a bit. My song, Clever Girl, was started with it. Very inspirational tool. So the 3 of us sat down and got into the nitty gritty of their scores, their partnership, and if they were to choose a finishing move to off each other, a la Mortal Kombat, what they would choose.
